Expressions of Interest
Tena koutou katoa, Welcome to Michael Park School. Thank you for your enquiry regarding the enrolment of your child in our school. We enclose our information package, including an expression of interest form.We invite you to attend pre-enrolment parent seminars, kindergarten and school events to help you understand more of the nature of Rudolf Steiner/Waldorf education and, subsequently, to an interview with a view to placing your child in a class, if and when a vacancy should occur.
Priority for interviews is given to families who can clearly demonstrate a connection to Steiner education e.g. transfers from other Steiner Schools and siblings of children already placed in the school.
Each month at our kindergarten, we hold an Open Afternoon, offering you an opportunity to hear about our philosophy and to ask questions about the school. Please meet at the kindergartens on the first Wednesday of each month at 2.15pm. This session is not held during any school holidays, or on statutory public holidays. These information afternoons and parent education opportunities provide an excellent opportunity to gain some knowledge of our special character. Parking is limited within our grounds so please park on the street where possible and walk down to the kindergartens via the path around the carpark.
If you wish to have your child's name placed on an expression of interest list, please complete and return the enclosed form. When we receive your completed form it will be placed on an active file and you will be contacted by the kindergarten enrolment coordinator or class teacher/sponsor should a place become available for your child. Any queries or completed forms can be sent to enrolments@michaelpark.school.nz
The school and kindergarten run parent education seminars throughout the year to offer a more in depth exploration of Rudolf Steiner/Waldorf education. You are invited to attend these seminars. They will be advertised on the notice boards of the kindergarten and in the Spiral Newsletter. The kindergarten will also send a newsletter to kindergarten families on the expression of interest list twice a year.
We wish you well on your journey to becoming a part of the Michael Park School Community.
Yours faithfully, College of Teachers
